Each and every one of the approximately 2,700 employees of the Rems-Murr hospitals in Winnenden and Schorndorf will receive a very special Christmas present this year from Bernd Kußmaul GmbH, Weinstadt-Großheppach: a 25 euro voucher as a symbolic “thank you” for their tireless commitment to the care and medical treatment of patients in the respective hospitals. After consultation with the city marketing departments of both cities, the vouchers can now be redeemed in shops at the respective locations.
Managing Director Bernd Kußmaul: “Actually, we wanted to celebrate our 25th anniversary last August. But then my wife and I had the idea of donating the money we had planned for this and for the company Christmas presents in the form of 25 euro vouchers to the staff in the two hospitals. With this amount of money, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks, appreciation and recognition to all those who tirelessly fight for the lives of Corona patients day and night and, due to the pandemic, to the brink of their own physical and mental strain. At the same time, we would also like to support the retail trade in the region with this action.”
The idea was triggered by an almost seven-hour special programme “Joko und Klaas live” on ProSieben, in which the whole issue of care was highlighted under the title “Pflege ist #NichtSelbstverständlich” (Care is #NotSelf-Evident), because the work of care workers in hospitals, old people’s homes and other institutions cannot be taken for granted. Of course, and now especially because of Corona, an already tense situation has become even worse.
In order to be able to increase the amount to 70,000 euros, the Kußmauls decided to forego the company’s traditional and popular Christmas surprise package for customers and ‘friends of the house’ this year.
But of course there is still a little surprise effect around the Christmas card with Greetings: the team of Bernd Kußmaul GmbH was able to take over the dearly loved
Christmas tradition after all.
